So without further ado, I bring you my beloved Harlem, New York: The Black Cultural Capital of The World...

Scenery and Drinks Only: Barawine. Barawineis a great place to mingle with the elevated locals of the historic Mt. Mount Morris Park District who are accomplished working professionals, business owners and entrepreneurs from all walks of life. Best time of day to attend: Anytime after 6PM; especially during breezy Summer nights. 

Best Places for a Romantic Stroll: The Harlem Meer: A lake at the Northwest Corner of New York City's Central Park), The Central Park Conservatory Garden (just outside the parameters of Harlem but worth mentioning!),  Striver's Row Historic District (138th and 139th Streets between 7th and 8th Avenue!), Morning Side Park, Riverside Drive, and Harlem Terrace (a fantastic piece of Harlem and a wonderful hidden gem!).

Under 30: Corner Social (321 Malcolm X Blvd!). If you are inexperienced or new to dating the Corner Social is the perfect venue for Under 30 Social Butterflies. Corner Socials Atmosphere is buzzy, electric, energetic, and uptempo. Great for Friday night flirtation. 

Under 30: Angel of Harlem. Another Harlem Under 30 Gem. This place is made for Non-committal Casual Summer Fun, getting your dance on, and using your milkshake to bring all the boys to the yard. 

The Perfect Place for a Double Date: Red Rooster. Red Rooster is the brain child of world renowned Chef Marcus Samuelson and is an elevated dining spot for the mature, the well watered, the culturally dynamic and is a great spot for out of owners who are on a double date. Reservations are highly recommended.

The Perfect Get to Know You Spot or Coffee Date: Setti Panni. An elevated coffee, wine spot for hour long get to know you conversations. And they also serve an amazing Calamari. 

Best Brunch Spots: Archer and Goat. Elevated, Buzzy, great for any age, and perfect for Mimosa Sundays. Maison Harlem: Elevated French Cuisine.

Best Place for an Impressive Saturday Night Date: Vinetaria. Vinetaria's menu is exquisite, the wine list impressive, the ambiance  is elevated, the crowd is cultivated, mature, and culturally dynamic. 

Best Place to get Your Flirt On: The Harlem Cigar Room.

Best Place for a First Kiss: 67 Orange Street. A quaint Harlem speakeasy that is canoodling friendly. 

Best Spot for Shopping: Nilu Harlem: a beautifully curated gift shop and the perfect place to support a gorgeously run black owned business. 

Best Place for a Quick Lunch Date: Terenga. Terenga's menu is all about a taste of the Disaspora from Ghana, To Senegal to Ethiopia. 

Best Places for Culture: The Studio Museum in Harlem, Shrine World Music Venue (one of my absolute favs for Live Music), An Apollo Theater Tour, The National Jazz Museum in Harlem (a beautiful tiny gem!), The 11AM Sunday Service at First Corinthians Baptist Church

Best Elevated Southern Dining: Melba's. Quaint, soulful, an intimate bistro atmosphere and the food is some of the best you'll ever have in Harlem.

Best Spot to Wear Heels: Ginny's Supper Club. Making a great first, second, or even third impression has never been easier. 

Best Places to Meet A Sugar Daddy: Minton's Playhouse. Runner Ups: Showman's, Bill's Place, Londell's and Red Rooster in Harlem. 

Best Place for an Overnight Stay: Aloft Hotel. A vibrant, pet friendly hotel that is a ten minute walk from everything.

What you need to know about Harlem: Atmospherically, Harlem is both high brow, low brow, street, affluent, professional, diverse and culturally vibrant, energetic and dynamic.
